Mission

To achieve this mission, BAAY has specified purposes for which this corporation is organized are to

(1) teach music vocal and instrumental, theatre, art, dance techniques and studio recording techniques to young people;

(2) provide opportunities for academic support of students;

(3) provide educational and performance opportunities to every child who can follow the rules at BAAY;

(4) provide advanced training and performance at professional levels to young people who are very serious about their training;

(5) create opportunities for students to serve the local community and the world at large

(6) foster and support respect, cooperation, decision-making, self-discipline and self-confidence in young people.

We have just finished 'Anything Goes', 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and 'Rudolph.' In February we will present 'Seussical the Musical'..then 4 more plays before summer! Stop by and see a show right here in downtown Bellingham at our own BAAY Actors' Studio. You'll be impressed. Last year, BAAY had a very successful run of Beauty and the Beast at the Mount Baker Theatre! Congrats all!

Past performances include Beauty and the Beast, Grease Jr. Peter Pan, and Annie Jr., You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Summer Camp Performances include Lion King and Little Mermaid.

In addition to performances, we offer students a range of gross motor and creative opportunities including weekly music classes, drama and acting classes, industrial arts classes and other classes related to visual and performing arts like costume and music production. We strive to include enrichment activities that extend our students knowledge and understanding of the world outside the classroom.

We are also committed to parent involvement. For interested parents, we gladly accept volunteers throughout the year to help you better understand and support your children’s development.

The mission of BAAY is to enrich the lives of children through the exploration of the arts. We seek to fulfill this mission by offering several programs including Choir, Theater Arts, Dance, Visual Arts, Music, Costume Design and Creation, and Recording Studio Training.
