Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth is a local performing and visual arts training organization. We offer many courses for young people ages five to fourteen, including the disciplines of musical theatre production, chorus, acting, dance for musical theater, art, piano and voices lessons.
We are dedicated to bringing out the best in young people through the arts. Students here practice having a positive attitude and know how to work together in harmony. It's a great place!
Please see our current schedule of classes and descriptions. If you have any questions, do write! Come visit!
We work in collaboration with the Bellingham Preschool of the Arts

BAAY is now under the non-profit umbrella of Allied Arts!
This means that sponsors and donors get a full tax write off when donating to BAAY. BAAY gets 90 % of the funds and Allied Arts gets 10 % for administering the program.
In order to get the tax benefit, checks need to be made out to Allied Arts with a note indicating that this is a donation to BAAY. Other benefits of our affliation with Allied Arts include being eligible for grants, bulk mail discounts and more.

Auditions for Annie: The Musical at BAAY!
Annie is here! BAAY will present three different versions of Annie.
Auditions for the Junior Version (ages 8-12), will be Monday and Tuesday, January 24 and 25 from 5 to 7 pm . Auditions for BAAY Repertory Theatre's production (ages 10-15), will be Wednesday and Thursday, January 26 and 27 from 5 to 7:15 pm, with callbacks on Friday the 28th from 4 to 6 pm. Please plan to be at all the audition times.
Casting for the BAAY Rep show will be more competitive as there is generally a more experienced group that turns out for this. No preparation is required for auditions but do wear comfortable clothes and shoes for dancing. All persons at auditions will sing, dance and act. No audition is required for the youngest version of the show, Pixie Theatre Annie (ages 5-8). Just register at www.baay.org for that class.
Note: The director may admit some advanced younger students to the BAAY Rep show because we may need some younger-looking orphans. All three shows are directed by David Post and choreographed by Lisa Markowitz. [photo by Heather Elsworth]
